San Francisco Campaign Kickoff: 40th Anniversary Celebration of the International Day of Peace.

Lynnette LaRoche from the Global Society for Female Executives (GSFE) launched the 2024-25 Women's Peace Campaign from the stage at the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the International Day of Peace hosted by Pathways to Peace in front of San Francisco's Civic Center, where the first celebration was held.

Pathways to Peace has been the Campaign's Fiscal Sponsor and partner leading up to the event, which included a global livestream that broadcast Lynette's message as well as several other speakers, performers, and entertainers who shared the stage with her between 11 and 4 PM PDT.

Most of the speakers empnasized the same message the campaign has promoted: PEACE BEGINS IN YOUR HEART, SPREADS FROM THERE TO YOUR FAMILY AND COMMUNITY, EVENTUALLY RIPPLING THROUGH COUNTRIES AND THE GLOBE.. That's also the message of the United Nations (Peace is ME) and Pathways to Peace (you ARE the pathway to peace) which offers educational and other programs throughout the world.

The goal of the Women's Peace Campaign is to engage hundreds of American women's business and professional women's organizations with combined membership of more than 3M women in educating and exciting their members about doing something (anything!) positive to promote world peace at any level.

To that end, we compiled, published, and made available hundreds of things any woman can do as an individual, most without leaving her kitchen! We offered all collaborating women's organizations lots of research and communications materials in formats they could easily adapt to their culture and communications programss. The five categories of action we covered were:

  • Personal (Inner) Peace

  • Family and Workplace Peace

  • Community Peace

  • National Peace (for any country)

  • World Peace.

When we released an "Insider Report" - DIY Peace -- we added a cosmic, (or spiritual, universal, Heavenly) Peace category to the list.

At the same time we had a humanitarian and programmatic goal, we had a goal of adapting a national public-influencing campaign model normally used only by very wealthy corporations, agencies, and trade associations to this and other humanitarian causes. While we learned a lot from both successes and failures that can be applied to other issues in the future, this "dual purpose" undermined our ability to raise the sponsorships needed to fulfill the entire campaign plan.

Launching the campaign meant turning it over to the collaborating organiztions and associations.. Since launching the campaign on International Peace Day September 21, we've been talking with leaders of women's peace organizations that have been active and involved in these issues for many years about the structure, programs, direction, and funding of the campaign in the future.

For now, any organization that wants to join the collab can go register at https://womenspeacecampaign.com/join-here to get the password to Materials emailed to you but we have no resources to help you implement your programs, adapt the communications materials, or otherwise support you. We will let all collaborators know if and when they become available. We would also like to update the website to post-launch content, and reach out to another 834 women's national and international organizations and associations not primarily involved in promoting peace.

You can also purchase the "Insider Report" summarizing our information prior to the launch on the registration page if desired, or purchase the internationally bestselling Voices of Peace: A Global Perspective ebook, paperback, or hardcover with contributions from 100 members and friends of the Global Society for Female Executives (GSFE), on Amazon:: https://amzn.to/4eFGVgg.
